Hospital Net Zero

Engineering toolkit

Forty-two linked worksheets for hospital energy, utilities, carbon, waste and finance. Change the blue and yellow input cells and every result, the dashboard and the 2030 roadmap update at once.

Planning tool, not an audit. All sample inputs are illustrative and not site-verified. Do not claim net zero from these results: commission a verified GHG inventory and independent assurance. Clinical requirements (ASHRAE/ASHE 170, local code, pressure cascades, humidity, temperature, infection prevention) always come first. Savings from chillers, air handlers, pumps and solar overlap, so do not add them up without dispatch or model validation.

Sample tariffs and costs are in Pakistani rupees (PKR) and the default grid factor is a placeholder: replace them with your own currency, tariffs and factors on the Factors sheet. U.S. users can load starter factors there (EPA eGRID national average, EPA diesel and natural-gas factors). Nothing you type leaves your browser and nothing is saved when you close the page.

  1. Pick a worksheet from the list, the search box or the Next button.
  2. Change the yellow cells. Start with Factors, then the sheet you need.
  3. Read the decision guide above each table: it flags abnormal inputs and says what to do next.

Method basis: energy-management training material (tariffs, motors, fan and pump laws, HVAC, boilers, solar, heat recovery, M&V) plus the GHG Protocol and WHO health-care waste guidance. This toolkit is independent and is not endorsed by the GHG Protocol, WHO or any agency named in it. Formulas are planning-level; validate with metered data and a qualified engineer.
